Azerbaijan and Croatia are set to hold political consultations at the level of deputy foreign ministers in May 2025, Croatian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Branko Zebic, told Report.
He stated that this year marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and a visit at the ministerial level is also planned in this regard:
"Our minister will visit Azerbaijan, and political consultations at the deputy minister level will be held next month. Croatia's Prime Minister was in Azerbaijan for the second time a few months ago within the framework of COP29. President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic meet frequently, with their last meeting taking place in Davos this year. So the cooperation is at a very high level."
The ambassador noted that the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Croatia is approximately 1 billion euros, and this figure is mainly formed by Azerbaijan's oil exports: "Croatia became the 10th European country to import Azerbaijani gas. There are many areas in which the two countries can cooperate."
