Considering the current realities of the global energy market, we must optimize our priorities, policies, and investments, said Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov during his speech at the 11th Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council Ministerial Meeting and the 3rd Green Energy Advisory Council Ministerial Meeting, APA reports.
According to him, despite geopolitical tensions and market volatility, natural gas remains the cornerstone of energy security, a strategic resource, and will remain a central component of energy for a long time.
"This, in turn, requires investments in gas fields and infrastructure. Considering the important reality, we must make swift decisions. Otherwise, ensuring the necessary supply volumes will generally fail. Another truth is that there is no alternative to diversifying the provision of sustainable energy security. Therefore, obtaining energy volumes from various sources and routes is not only the fundamental guarantee and independence of energy security but is also crucial for Europe.
This issue must remain a constant priority and be considered in the most important moments. Regarding the significance of Azerbaijani gas, the Southern Gas Corridor is a strategic resource for Europe, and it is an integral part of our plans. In recent years, Azerbaijan has not only maintained its position as a reliable partner but has also significantly expanded its geography,” said Parviz Shahbazov.
