President of Kazakhstan: Trade among OTS countries exceeded $45B in 2024

Kazakhstan will continue to promote deepening ties among all Turkic peoples, said the country's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in an interview with Ana tili.

"Over the past 10 years, trade ties between members of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) have significantly strengthened; in 2024, the volume of mutual trade exceeded $45 billion. Our countries play an important role in the implementation of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route. We intend to increase cooperation in energy, industry, agriculture, and digitalization," Tokayev said.

He reminded that the countries included in the OTS are neighbors and important geopolitical partners of Kazakhstan. During Kazakhstan's chairmanship of the organization in 2024, special attention was paid to enhancing cooperation in the political, trade and economic, transport and logistics, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

As the chairman of the OTS, Kazakhstan came up with the motto "TURKTIME!" This abbreviation stands for eight priorities: Traditions, Unification, Reforms, Knowledge, Trust, Investments, Mediation and Energy.

According to Tokayev, these priorities were received with interest by the entire Turkic community, which is not limited to the OTS countries.

"Kazakhstan supports all creative initiatives that contribute to the rapprochement of the Turkic world," the president of Kazakhstan concluded.
