On February 2, 2026, an online webinar titled “Carbon Monoxide Poisoning: Diagnosis and Treatment” was organized on the ZOOM platform through the joint initiative of the Medical Service Department of the State Customs Committee, the Azerbaijan Toxicologists Association, and the Management Union of Medical Territorial Units (TABIB).More than 300 physicians working in the Emergency Medical Service, as well as in public and private healthcare institutions, took part in the webinar.A presentation was delivered by Ismayil Afandiyev, Deputy Head of the Medical Service Department of the State Customs Committee, member of the Azerbaijan Toxicologists Association, PhD in Medicine, Associate Professor. He provided comprehensive information on the basic concepts of carbon monoxide poisoning, its pathophysiology, diagnostic and differential diagnostic methods, general principles of treatment, specific features of antidote therapy, prevention of complications, tactical approaches for physicians during mass incidents, and other relevant topics.
At the end of the webinar, numerous questions of interest to the participants were answered, and productive discussions were held on the subject.
