President Ilham Aliyev congratulates Emir of the State of Qatar

President Ilham Aliyev sent a letter of congratulation to the Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar. The letter says: " I extend my heartfelt congratulations to you on the FIFA Executive Committee`s decision naming the State of Qatar as the host of the 2022 football World Cup finals.
This decision is a high recognition for your country`s active efforts towards all-round development and settlement of international and regional issues, and also a vivid proof of its increasingly growing prestige on the global scale.
I`m confident the tournament will be remarkable from the organizational and technical points of view, and will be very well organized. I wish you, the brotherly people of Qatar and the whole sport community of your country successes in preparation for this important tournament, and your host national team perseverance and remarkable wins."
