POS terminals installed in country in connection with First EuroGames reached 86000

Complex measures have been taken in Azerbaijan for smooth, full and without delay implementation of cashless payments.

At the same time, next steps have been taken to meet the growing demands of a large number of tourists that are expected to arrive in our country on the eve of the First European Games.

According to a statement released by the Ministry of Taxes, measures regarding installation and use of POS terminals are under way to ensure the implementation of noncash payments on the eve of the First European Games in the country for the first time.

Thus, the installation of POS terminals in Baku and Mingachevir cities, in particular in various retail outlets, entertainment centers, public caterings and other facilities in 18 arenas and business entities around them in connection with the First European Games have come to an end.

53,700 POS terminals have been installed in Baku, while 1929 POS terminals have been installed in Mingachevir. The employees of tax authorities will monitor compliance with the rules for use of POS terminals in arenas allocated for the First European Games and facilities around them.

In total, the number of POS terminals installed in the country reached 86000, out of which 62.4% are in the city, 37.6% - in other cities and regions.
