Jeanine Cicognini, Rosario Maddaloni and Giovanni Greco have been selected to represent Italy at Baku 2015.
The Swiss-born Cicognini is ranked 59th in the world and appeared at the 2008 Olympic Games. She is a five-time Swiss women's singles champion and has jumped from her 113th world ranking last September, jumping as high as 56th in the world.
Cicognini is currently ranked 16th in Europe but will have a higher seed at Baku 2015 since the top two Europeans, Carolina Marin and Beatriz Corrales of Spain, have both pulled out.
Maddaloni, the world number 105, will compete at men's singles. He is actually the second-best ranked Italian behind world number 76 Indra Bagus Ade Chandra.
Maddaloni will also compete in men's doubles along with Greco, who is ranked 140th in the world. Greco won the Italian singles championship in 2007, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. Greco and Maddaloni are ranked 62nd in the world in men's doubles.
