Measures were continued in the first quarter of current year to organize transit traffic through country to turn Azerbaijan into transit hub.
As a result of an international tender held in order to ensure the alternativeness of Azerbaijan’s international traffic exchange, as well as to improve the quality of communications, work was also carried out on the installation of IP-based International Switching System.
As compared with 2014, total capacity of the international internet channels has increased by 80 Gb/s and reached 330 Gbit / s.
In the first half of 2015, the volume of international incoming traffic in Azerbaijan decreased by 29.1 million minutes and amounted to 68.7 million minutes compared to the same period of last year, and the volume of outgoing traffic decreased by 9.1 million minutes to 24.0 million minutes.
