Ali Abbasov with his Belarusian counterpart

Minister of Communications and High Technologies Ali Abbasov has received a foreign delegation headed by Minister of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Popkov.

During the meeting, Minister Ali Abbasov stressed that mutual visits made by the heads of states have a special place in the dynamic development of the Azerbaijani-Belarusian relations based on the principal of friendship, mutual trust and strategic partnership. The Minister said that the relations between the two countries were successfully developing in all spheres, including in the ICT and communications sector.

Minister Ali Abbasov praised the efforts and initiatives made towards further expansion of this cooperation and spoke on the prospects of development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Belarus in ICT field.

In turn, Minister of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Popkov said bilateral relations between the two countries are strengthening year after year and have already entered a new stage of development. Belarusian Minister expressed his country’s interest in establishing cooperation with Azerbaijan in many areas of ICT.

There is a huge potential for developing cooperation in electronic security, informatization, high technology parks, space industry and other areas. Our country is also interested in establishing joint companies with Azerbaijan, which will specialise in production of innovative products, said Sergei Popkov. He stressed the importance of participation of ICT companies of both countries in domestic market and spoke about the significance of holding the 3rd Belarusian-Azerbaijani ICT Forum within the framework of the exhibition and conference Bakutel 2015.

The meeting considered expedient to test and analyze the quality and prices of products and services manufactured by Belarusian companies before introducing them in the Azerbaijani market.

The sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
