Azerbaijan ready to share its experience with Iran in new technologies

Being on visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran for the participation in a meeting of Non-Aligned Movement, Minister of Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Abbasov met with the Minister of Science, Research and Technology of Iran Mohammad Farhad on February 22.

Ali Abbasov said that in recent years the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran are on the rise. Demonstrating a political will, presidents of both countries have defined the political trend for the development of relations. The official Baku is interested in establishing close ties with Iran in all areas.

It was noted that information technologies in Azerbaijan are experiencing a period of development. The result of this development is that Azerbaijan is implementing joint projects in the field of innovation with the countries of Europe and Japan, creating technology parks. Azerbaijani government also intends to implement such projects with the nearest friendly country Iran. Since the implementation of joint projects in the field of new technologies serves the development of economy and welfare of the population.

The Minister noted that the expansion of ties between the two countries in the field of science is in the interest of both the official Baku and Tehran. There are cooperation ties between Iran’s Tabriz University and Baku State University. There is need to establish ties with other higher educational institutions, in particular with the universities with technical direction. Azerbaijani government is ready to cooperate with Iran in this direction.

Ali Abbasov said that Azerbaijan has created new techno-parks and invited Mohammad Farhadi to Azerbaijan to become familiar with these innovations and further expansion of the ties.

Minister of Science, Research and Technology of Iran Mohammad Farhad expressed his gratitude to Ali Abbasov for accepting the invitation of the official Tehran to participate in the meeting of Non-Aligned Movement, and said that Iran and Azerbaijan are friendly countries and the expansion of ties in the field of science can only give positive results. New technologies are also being developed in Iran. Toady, people are being examined and treated in the Iranian health facilities using nanotechnologies. Exchange experience with Azerbaijan in this area could be beneficial to both parties.Speaking about information and communication technologies of his country, the Iranian Minister expressed his gratitude for the invitation and said that he would visit Baku in the near future.

The meeting was also attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Iran Javanshir Akhundov.
