Azerbaijani Special Olympic Committee president Shahin Aliyev held a press conference on September 5 regarding the 2014 Special Olympics European Summer Games, SIA reports.
He noted that the "Special Olympics" will be organized from 9 till 20 September, in Belgium and will involve about 2000 athletes from 58 European countries and Eurasia. The organization of the 2014’s European Summer Games Special Olympics hopes during these eight days of competition to break the taboo, and thus contribute to the integration of people with mental disabilities.
Shahin Aliyev added that a delegation of 42 members of Azerbaijani Special Olympic Committee will participate at the 2014 Special Olympics European Summer Games.
Azerbaijani team will compete in athletics, badminton, basketball, judo, table tennis, swimming, Shahin Aliyev said.
