"Candidates for the Nobel Peace Prize are free in their activities", prof. Musa Gasimli told SIA expressing his attitude about Akram Aylisli being suggested as a candidate for the Nobel Prize by a group of scientists and literary critics.
"The exclusive nomination of Akram Aylisli for this award, instead of well-known Azerbaijani writers, inambiguously indicates what reasons his candidacy was proposed for. Putting forward such person’s candidacy shows that the Nobel Prize is mainly given on political purposes in the field of literature. I think this kind of actions casts a shadow over the Nobel Prize. Furthermore, prize givers put much emphasis on political purposes, not literary values," he said.
