Well-known Azerbaijani chess player dies aged 28

He was 11st on the rating list leaving Teymur Rajabov one step behind.

Azerbaijani Chess lost him.

Vugar Hashimov, a talented Azerbaijani chess player who had been a three-time winner of Azerbaijan Chess Championship, passed away on the night of January 11 after suffering a long-lasting fatal illness, SIA reports.

Vugar was born on July 24, 1986 in Baku. In 2009, he won the title of Azerbaijan Champion as member of Azerbaijani national team. Afterwards, in 2011, he became the winner of Recco Emilio chess tournament that had regularly been being held since 1958.

He was suffering epilepsy and had previously received treatment in Germany.
