Scientists in South Africa are so certain that there are traces of human DNA in most meat products, they don't feel a need to test for it. With the Western world's food production practices under the microscope since that whole horse meat thing, the South African government has launched an investigation into its own supply chain, and asked Stellenbosch University professor of meat sciences Louw Hoffman for his view. "If we had done DNA tests, we probably would have found traces of human DNA in the products," he said, like it was no big deal. "Workers are often cutting themselves."
