"President Ilham Aliyev directly controls the criminal case launched on Gular Ahmedova. It cannot be politicized", said General Prosecutor Zakir Garalov while speaking about the criminal case launched on the video related to Elshad Abdullayev and Gular Ahmedova.
According to the General Prosecutor, the fact is being inspected: "Our inspectors were at the Azerbaijan International University yesterday. They inspected the room, where the video was shot. The place and aim of the videowill be clear after the investigations."
The General Prosecutor said that Ahmedova herself has rejected her MP immunity right for objective inspections: "She considers that her position will have an effective role in the investigation process."
Garalov said that Elsad Abullayev, who spread this video, must return back to Azerbaijan: "First Gular Ahmedova and Elshad Abdulayev must be confronted and questioned on the criminal case. One of the questions is that why Elshad Abdullayev have been hiding this video for 7 years. If he fights against corruption, he must inform the interrogation about the acts against him when he put his candidacy for Parliament. But he didn’t appeal."
