Ganja city nominated for European Youth Capital- Minister

Azerbaijan’s Ganja city was nominated for the European Youth Capital, Minister of Youth and Sport Azad Rahimov said in his speech at the first session of Coordination Board on the implementation of State Program for Azerbaijani Youth in 2011-2015.

Minister said that Ganja was declared the Youth Capital of Azerbaijan and 11 "Youth houses" were built in Azerbaijani regions and more than 10 will be built within this program. According to him "Youth houses" network will encircle all regions soon.

Rahimov also talked about the Azerbaijani Students Card. He said that this card would be given to 192 thousands of students. For the first time cards will be free for students. He said that the price of this card in some European countries is 10-15 Euro.

Deputy Minister of Youth and Sport Intigam Babayev speaking about the European Youth Capitals gave some proposals on the nomination of Ganja city in 2015. He said that 13 European cities bid for this title. On July 4, 2012, four of those 13 cities will be chosen as the official candidates. European Youth Capital will be declared on October 15.
