Turkmenistan’s Embassy spread a statement by the FMA

The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Azerbaijan spread a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan concerning the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan made public on June 18 and summoning the Turkmen Ambassador to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.

The statement reads that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan sent a note of protest to Azerbaijan on June 16 concerning the attempt by the Azerbaijani coastal service to carry out unlawful actions against the civil boat, which conducted scientific research in the sector not belonging to Azerbaijan. It was also mentioned that definite actions will be made in order to prevent the appearance of such provocations.

Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Toyli Komekov was summoned to Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs on June 18. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Khalaf Khalafov expressed the official protest of Azerbaijani side against the research work conducted by Turkmen side in disputable "Kepez" field in the Caspian Sea.
