As in other South Caucasus countries, the adoption of the Law on Defamation is important also in Azerbaijan.
OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Ireland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Eamon Gilmore has told the statement in his meeting with Vice Speaker Bahar Muradova at the Azerbaijani Parliament.
According to the OSCE chairman, Azerbaijan is the only country in South Caucasus which hasn’t yet adopted this law.
"Therefore, I think that it’s already important to adopt this law in Azerbaijan, and its materialization should be facilitated."
