The bitter truth is that we didn’t feel this support during the demonstration of Islamic solidarity and religious initiative

The Scientific and Religious Council of the Caucasian Muslim Board (CMB) issued statement that expresses concern over the recent calls of Iran’s some religious figures and opinions sounded during rallies in front of the Azerbaijan’s consulate general in Tabriz. The authors of the statement, sent from the CMB to SIA, says that insult aimed at Azerbaijan, its state attributes, the president made by some religious figures of neighboring Iran, threat to Azerbaijan’s independent policy were inadmissible: "We consider it as an intervention in our domestic affairs. The real purpose of these provocations directed against our people and statehood is not to take care of religious initiative, Islamic solidarity, brotherhood and self-respect of our people, but to damage our stability and create a confrontation inside the society. The bitter truth is that we didn’t feel this support during the demonstration of Islamic solidarity and religious initiative. Unfortunately, we witness that this country continues material and moral support to aggressor country Armenia while we didn’t hear the fatwa of Iranian religious figures in response to the occupation of Azerbaijani lands, destruction of Shusha, Aghdam mosques and hundreds of mosques, expulsion of 1 mln Azerbaijanis from their native lands. We announce again that Azerbaijani people, if God pleases, will overcome difficulties towards the independence our state".
