Parliament speaker to visit Hungary

A delegation of the Azerbaijani parliament headed by speaker Ogtay Asadov will pay an official visit to Budapest on 7-9 December.


The statement came from parliament’s spokesman Akif Nasirov.

The delegation will include Parliament’s Chairwoman on Human Rights Rabiyat Aslanova, MPs Khanhuseyn Kazimli, Javanshir Feyziyev and Head of Parliament’s Administration Safa Mirzoev.

Within the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation will visit the Hungarian National Assembly, where they will meet Chairman of the Hungarian Parliament László Kövér and Head of Hungary-Azerbaijan Friendship Group Marton Genchosi.

The program of the visit also includes a meeting with Hungarian President Pál Schmitt, leadership of the Hungarian Cabinet of Ministers and Economic Ministry’s State Secretary Rosa Nagi.

The delegation is to visit the Azerbaijani Embassy in Hungary and familiarize with the activity of Azerbaijani diaspora in this country.

"This is the first official visit of the parliamentary representatives to Hungary. Nevertheless, relations between the two countries, as well as interparliamentary cooperation develop successfully," Nasirov stressed.
