Bak hosts Azerbaijani-Turkish business forum

of Economic Development and organization of the Azpromo,
Azerbaijani-Turkish business forum has today kicked off in Baku.
Deputy Minister of Economic Development Sevinj Hasanova said that
today Azerbaijan and Turkey had more than 30 economic agreements. The
Deputy Minister stressed the importance of the Baku-Tbilisi-Jeyhan,
Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum and Baku-Tbilisi-Kars, and noted that these
projects would ensure energy security in the region.
Hasanova also said that within 10 months this year, the trade turnover
between the two countries exceeded $ 1.4 billion, imports amounted to
$990 million, exports - $400 million. Compared to the same period last
year, trade turnover grew by 85%, imports - by 64%, export - by 2.7
times.
According to her, currently about 1,000 Turkish companies and 5 banks
with Turkish capital operate in Azerbaijan. And 850 Azerbaijani
companies operate in Turkey. Over the past 10 years, Turkey has invested
$ 2 billion in the economy of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijan invested $ 4.5
bln in Turkish economy.
