Frontrunner of Democrats for next year's presidential election Hillary Clinton is to hand the private email server she used while serving as US secretary of state to the FBI, her campaign spokesman has confirmed.
Mrs Clinton has faced criticism since her use of the private email server for work was revealed in March.
Her political opponents say the server was not secure and have accused her of attempting to sidestep transparency and record-keeping laws.
Government and congressional investigators have been trying to establish whether she sent or received classified information through the server while she was the top US diplomat.
Her lawyers have also handed over thumb drives containing copies of emails sent to and from her personal email addresses via the server.
