BBC has published an article about the winner of the first ever European Games, SIA informs.
"Charlie Maddock secured Great Britain's third medal in a day with taekwondo gold at the European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan. The 19-year-old, in only her second major tournament, beat Serbia's Tijana Bogdanovic in the -49kg category. Earlier, British canoeists Lani Belcher and Ed McKeever won silver and bronze respectively at the Games.
McKeever, 31, took bronze in the men's K1 200m canoe sprint before Belcher, 26, claimed K1 5,000m silver.
"I can't believe it, it's just amazing" said Maddock, who is a seven-time world junior kick-boxing champion and only switched to taekwondo two years ago.
