Goberville, who won a 10m Air Pistol silver medal at London 2012, was chosen by France's NOC to carry the French flag at the Opening Ceremony of the Baku 2015 European Games.
"This will be a pretty tough competition so it is with great pride and responsibility that I represent the France team at the Baku 2015 European Games," Goberville said in an interview on the NOC's website.
The 28-year-old said she would do her best to support the other athletes at Baku 2015: "I will try to share with them the values of sport, the fight, overcoming and self control. These are values that I have to teach as a standard-bearer," Goberville said.
Several sports federations within France used the announcement of the flag bearer to name their sport's teams for Baku 2015. The French women's triathletes in Azerbaijan will be Margot Garabedian and Léonie Periault with Alexandra Cassan as an alternate. The two male triathletes named were Léo Bergere and Lucas Jacolin.
The French Cycling Federation also announced its riders for Baku 2015. The Road Race cyclists will be Annabelle Dreville, Fiona Dutriaux, Séverine Eraud, Soline Lamboley, Fanny Riberot, Julian Alaphilippe, Maxime Bouet, Thomas Boudat, Alexis Gougeard, Christophe Laporte and Kévin Ledanois.
Magalie Pottier, Sandie Thibaut, Sylvain André, Joris Daudet and Amidou Mir will represent France in BMX Cycling. In the mean time, Perrine Clauzel, Pauline Ferrand-Prévot, Margot Moschetti, Hugo Drechou, Maxime Marotte and Jordan Sarrou will be France's Mountain Bike riders.
France's gymnasts for Baku 2015 were also named. The Aerobic Gymnastics competitors will be Benjamin Garavel, Maxime Decker Breitel, Gavin Jourdan, David Orta, Lauréna Giunipero and Christina Ioannidou.
Laura Viaud, Tiphanie Bonnet and Agathe Meunier will bear the blue, white and red of the Tricolor in Acrobatic Gymnastics.
Kseniya Moustafaeva, Léa Peinoit, Noémie Balthazard, Océane Charoy, Elena Chabert and Samantha Ay are France's athletes for the Rhythmic Gymnastics competition.
France will have six Artistic gymnasts at Baku 2015 with Marine Brevet, Anne Kuhm and Valentine Pikul being the women choices and Axel Augis, Arnaud Willig and Jim Zona picked for the men's team.
Marine Jurbert, Joëlle Vallez, Sébastian Martiny and Alla Morante are France's tumblers in the Trampoline.
