Arsenal will sign Schalke star Julian Draxler in January for £37million as the club plan for life without £42.5million flop Mesut Ozil.
Draxler has been closely monitored by Gunners scouts in the last two years and came close to joining last January, only for Schalke to pull out of a deal at the last minute.
However, the Daily Express says Arsenal will finally land their man this new year, with Arsene Wenger set to pay his full £37million release fee.
It’s thought that Wenger decided on the move this week after losing patience with record signing Mesut Ozil.
Draxler is seen as Ozil’s future replacement in the Germany team and Wenger believes he’s perfect to take over his No.10 duties for Arsenal.
Ozil could end up staying until the end of the season, but is expected to then depart for a new challenge.
