As is known, recently postage stamps dedicated to modern architectural monuments of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation have been issued.
A solemn ceremony was held on postage stamps within the framework of the opening of international seminar on philately took place on 22-23 September in Sochi.
The event was attended by director of Azermarka LLC of the Ministry of Communication and High Technologies Intigam Bagirli and Deputy Head of the Russian Federal Communications Agency Vladimir Selikhov.
It should be noted that the theme of the joint issue is “Modern Architecture”, the direction of using new methods and forms of architectural buildings. The stamps reflect not only modern architecture, but also famous historical sites in the two capitals, Baku and Moscow.
Speaking at the event, Intigam Bagirli thanked the Federal Communications Agency, and “Marka” publishing house for operative work. According to him, the issues can not only demonstrate main achievements in the field of history and culture, but also characterize the level of relations between member countries.
The deputy head of the Russian Federal Communications Agency Vladimir Selikhov said in his speech that the joint issues of postage stamps reflecting the universal nature of philately allow us to popularize historical events and cultural values of the two countries to the general public.
Note that the postage stamps depict the Maiden Tower against the background of Baku Flame Towers, and the embankment of Moscow River and the Kremlin walls against the background of panoramic view of Moscow city. The combination of these monuments in one composition shows the link of eras and generations, the connection of the past and present.
