In recent years, innovation and innovative changes are encouraged in the country under the leadership of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, every support is provided for the realization of new and progressive ideas.
These days, the victory of stratups consisting of Azerbaijani students at prestigious international competition is the result of the conditions created for the development of innovative knowledge of young people in our country.
Thus Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ministry of Communications and High Technologies (MCHT) jointly with company Microsoft Azerbaijan started competition “Microsoft Imagine Cup 2015”. Team “NoObs”, the winner of the qualifying round of the national competition “Microsoft Imagine Cup 2015” after successfully completing the semi-final stage has successfully represented Azerbaijan in the final stage organized in the city of Seattle, United States.
Team “NoObs” introduced “A set of Bluetooth regulators”, and software project “Spinal” for the Windows Phone smartphones and the project won the second place in the competition. Members of the Azerbaijani team winning the second place at the international innovation competition “Microsoft Imagine Cup 2015” held by Microsoft Corporation among students and aimed to raise young people’s interest in ICT sector and assess their labour, have met today with Minister Ali Abbasov.
The minister highly appreciated the project “Spinal” presented in the “Innovation” category of the prestigious competition by Azerbaijani team “NoObs” consisting of Nizami Ismailov, Arif Movsumzadeh, Fidan Rustamova and Ulviyya Rustamova, the students of Baku State University and Khazar University and congratulated them on this occasion.
33 teams from different countries participated at the competition. Although Azerbaijan was represented at the competition for the first time, the team obtained high result and the minister expressed satisfaction with it, saying the ministry will provide support to any high-tech projects in the future.
Note that, the competition is traditionally held in three categories: “World citizenship, projects for people with limited possibilities”, “Games” and “Innovations”.
The project “Spinal” by Azerbaijani students aims to control the position of the spinal column in the people in sitting, walking or working position and negative factors that influence it. Azerbaijani representative who won the second place at the prestigious competition “Microsoft Imagine Cup 2015” was awarded at a solemn ceremony held at the Corp’s headquarters in Redmond.
Note that in order to participate in the competition it is necessary to think an original game and apply it in Microsoft Windows platforms, develop innovative software project, or design additional prototype that can solve complicated problems of the modern era for base of Microsoft technologies.
The main purpose of the competition is to teach students to be able to gain innovative thinking and reveal local talented students.
According to the order of Minister Ali Abbasov, the members of the team “NoObs” have been awarded honorary diplomas.
In the end the winners were presented honorary diplomas and cash prizes.
