The Agency of the Jewish News (AJN) published an article entitled “State aid to religious communities" devoted to the Order of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev “On providing financial aid to religious communities in Azerbaijan”.
The article writes that the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed an Order on allocation of 2,5 million AZN (more than 3 million dollars) on financial support of religious communities of the country in 2015.
The money will be transferred to the State Committee on Work with Religious Organizations of Azerbaijan Republic which will be engaged in distribution among religious communities of the republic of the state financial support.
The Agency writes that according to the State Committee, “in Azerbaijan, officially were registered 600 religious communities: Muslim, Jewish, Christian In 2015, all these religious associations will receive proportional financial aid from the state which will go also to the support of the projects directed on strengthening of religious awareness and national cultural values”.
Boris Simanduyev, head of the religious community of Mountain Jews of the Krasnaya Sloboda (Red village) told the Agency: “The order of our highly esteemed President Ilham Aliyev on allocation of 2,5 million manats to religious communities of the republic in 2015 brightly testifies that the head of state pays considerable attention to the assistance and support of believers.
We, Jews of Azerbaijan, are sincerely grateful to President Ilham Aliyev for this support. The state renders any assistance to our religious community and other Jewish communities of Azerbaijan as well as to the Muslim and Christian communities.
