A man has been shot dead after he started stabbing passengers on a bus heading to a casino in Connecticut, police said.
The unidentified man reportedly began attacking his fellow travellers late on Tuesday. The driver quickly pulled off Interstate 95 and caught the attention of a state trooper at a building site.
The attacker - who was acting aggressively and harming himself - got off the bus but refused to drop the "cutting instrument" he was holding. He was shot by the trooper and died later in hospital.
The bus, carrying about 24 passengers, was heading to a Connecticut casino from New York's Chinatown.
Two people were stabbed, while a third passenger suffered non-life threatening injuries after being hit by the ricochet from a shot fired by the trooper.
