No Hate Speech movement will bring together young people of countries in conflict with each other, the curator of the project, head of the department of educational and training programs of the Youth Department of the Council of Europe Rui Gomes said, SIA reports quoting the AzerTac.
Gomes said that Azerbaijan is co-chair of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, and it made a proposal to host the Youth Forum.
“Gabala is an ideal venue for such events. This is an ancient city, where eastern and western civilizations meet, and it has a lovely atmosphere,” he stressed.
“And our goal was to gather active European youth in this region, which aims to fight against hatred online and in real life.”
At the Forum also were speaking the head of the Gabala Executive Authorities Sabuhi Abdullayev, head of the sector for work with youth organizations within the Presidential Administration's Socio-political Department Vusal Guliyev, the Council of Europe chair for youth affairs Aleksandra Knezevic, the head of the Council of Europe Baku office, Dragan Filipovich, and others.
As known, Gabala launched an international forum of the No Hate Speech youth movement on October 2. The event is being organized within the framework of the Chairmanship of the Azerbaijan Republic at the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, by the National Assembly of Youth Organizations of Azerbaijan (NAYORA) and the Council of Europe Youth Department.
Some 250 participants from 47 Council of Europe member states and other countries are involved in the event to last till October 5.
