A charity event on the eve of Eid al-Adha for orphans in Beyt-Ul-Mal orphanage in Islamabad, Pakistan was held with the support of Azerbaijani First Lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, SIA reports quoting the AzerTac.
Organized for over 800 residents from 6 children homes in the cities of Islamabad and Ravalpindi, the event was attended by members of the Pakistan-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary friendship group, employees of the Azerbaijani Embassy
Head of the Bait-ul-mal Children’s Home Abid Waheed Sheikh thanked for the care and attention shown towards Pakistani orphans. Abid Waheed Sheikh mentioned that the Heydar Aliyev Foundation has been providing regular support to Bait-ul-Mal Children’s Home since 2012.
Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan Dashgin Shikarov congratulated the attendees of the event on behalf of Mehriban Aliyeva on the upcoming Eid al-Adha.
The Ambassador gave information about successful projects carried out by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Mehriban Aliyeva both abroad and within the borders of the country. He noted that sacrificial animals will be cut during 6 to 8 October on behalf of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and distributed to people that have suffered from floods in Pakistan.
Azerbaijani First Lady’s such initiative on the holy day is a vivid proof of her humanism and dedication to the Islamic values and the relations between the two countries, Azerbaijani Ambassador said.
Presents were given at the event to the residents of children’s homes operating in the cities of Islamabad and Ravalpindi, and a dinner was arranged for children.
Attendees of the event acquainted with the reconstruction works carried out by the Pakistani Government and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation at the children’s home.
