The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) dispatched a group of Korean experts, who will be in Azerbaijan from September 22 through December 5 within the framework of “The Project on the Establishment of Electronic Education Network and Digital Multimedia Infrastructure for Nakhchivan State University (NSU)”. The purpose of dispatch is to install portal, e-Learning and academic affairs system and equipment, to transfer the knowledge of operation within the framework of the project. Furthermore, the experts will conduct final test and launch the new system after the two sides agree on the test result. The experts will also carry out system operation and stabilization, assist development for eight course contents of the e-learning system and perform user training based on the manual. More detailed discussions on network speed improvement, pre-preparation of portal and mail domain, format of certifications issuing system etc. will be held between the parties during the next month.
The KOICA has organized two fellowship programs for the managers and staff of the NSU within the framework of the project. In this regard, the manager-level representatives of the NSU have already left for Korea on the 21st of September and will stay there until the 27th of September, 2014. The main goal of this fellowship program is to enhance managers’ know-how on management of the Education Information Systems of Nakhchivan State University and to study the advanced University Education Information Systems of Korea through case study and to contribute to mutual cooperation between Korea and Azerbaijan.
“The Project for the Establishment of Electronic Education Network and Digital Multimedia Infrastructure for Nakhchivan State University” is a 24-month project with the budget of USD 3.5 million and aimed at establishing the electronic education network, which includes portal, e-Learning, academic affairs, e-Library, etc., for improving the administration efficiency and providing the online educational service for students, improving the digital multimedia infrastructure by implementing the up-to-date ICT equipments, contributing to the human resource development of Azerbaijan and promote ICT competencies by sharing the know-how of Korean technology and development experience.
