James Cameron has pushed back Avatar 2’s release date AGAIN and we’re beginning to lose the will to live.
The film was originally due to hit cinemas in 2014, FIVE YEARS after it’s 2009 predecessor, and has been pushed back several times since then. It’s now been pencilled in for a ‘late 2017′ release date.
Cameron is blaming the fact that he and his team are working on all three Avatar sequels at the same time and it’s turned in to a bit of a complex job.
He’s planning to film them all at the same time before releasing them over three consecutive years and is hoping to have the script tied up by the end of the month.
‘There’s a layer of complexity in getting the story to work as a saga across three films that you don’t get when you’re making a stand-alone film,’ he said during a talk in New Zealand yesterday.
‘We’re writing three simultaneously. And we’ve done that so that everything tracks throughout the three films,’ he continued. ‘We’re not just going to do one and then make up another one and another one after that.
‘And parallel with that, we’re doing all the design. So we’ve designed all the creatures and the environments,’ he added.
But fans on Twitter are starting to feel a bit exasperated by all the faffing
