The world stared in disbelief as photos of Prince Harry partying in the nude in Las Vegas emerged in 2012, and now the young prince has offered an explanation for his debauched ways.
‘It was probably a classic case of me being too much Army and not enough prince. It’s a simple case of that,’ he told Man of the World magazine.
The images of the then 28-year-old were seen all over the world, however many British outlets were reluctant to publish them.
The forth in line to the British throne revealed while posing for the font cover of the American menswear magazine that being sent on a tour of duty in Afghanistan shortly after the scandal gave him a wake up call.
‘I saw some horrendous things. The tragic injuries and deaths of local people from roadside bombs, some of whom were children; coalition forces lying in the battlefield,’ he told the December issue of the magazine.
Prince Harry served in Afghanistan as part of the Army Air Corps from 2012 to 2013.
The young royal showed he was more than just a soldier yesterday by displaying his charitable side.
He joined Helen Mirren, Damian Lewis and Jamie Oliver in answering the phones at London broking firm ICAP to raise funds for England Rugby’s All Schools charity, of which he is the patron.
