Eva Mendes has jokingly shared the first "photo" of her newborn daughter Esmeralda, saying that her little tot is "adorable". The actress and her partner Ryan Gosling welcomed their first child in mid-September.
Making her first televised appearance since the arrival of her baby, Eva looked radiant in a red minidress, showing no signs that she had just given birth.
The 40-year-old star was speaking about coping with motherhood on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, when she decided to tease the audience with a fake photo.
"Isn't she adorable?" cooed Eva as a hilarious composite image of herself and Ryan, 34, flashed up on the screen.
"She looks like both of you, she's beautiful," said Ellen.
"I can't stop staring," said Eva. "She's very exotic."
When asked about whether her two-month-old was sleeping through the night, the Hitch actress said: "No, no, God no! We're getting the hang of it, the sleeping thing. But yeah I'm exhausted. It's the best. I'm so incredibly tired, I thought I was tired before but no, nothing like this. I wouldn't have it any other way."
Eva and Ryan, who are a notoriously private couple, managed to keep their pregnancy a secret well into the actress' second trimester.
"Early on we decided it's going to be so hard for her to have privacy and we thought, well, this is the first opportunity we can give her to protect her," said Eva.
The Miami-born beauty had appeared on Ellen's show early on in her pregnancy and denied that she was expecting, prompting the comedian to open the interview with a sarcastic, "Congratulations liar."
"My mother didn't even know yet!" laughed Eva, defending her decision to keep mum.
The model also credited breastfeeding to shedding her post-baby weight, but insisted that her figure wasn't her priority.
"The whole bounce back thing, I'm just like oh gosh, ease up," said Eva. "It's okay, we don’t have to bounce back. I mean eventually, maybe, but certainly not in a couple of weeks."
Eva and Ryan welcomed baby Esmeralda Amada Gosling on 12 September.
