Twilight star Jackson Rathbone has spoken of his terror as a plane he was a passenger on made an emergency landing in California.
The actor - who played Jasper Hale in the movies - was with his family on JetBlue Flight 1415 when it developed engine trouble shortly after take-off and returned to Long Beach Airport.
An airport spokeswoman said four people were injured in Thursday's incident on the Airbus A320, which had been bound for Austin, Texas.
Rathbone live tweeted that the cabin filled with smoke, but the oxygen masks were not released so a flight attendant had to manually deploy them.
"I recited the Lord’s prayer as I held my wife and son in my arms," he posted.
"I grabbed my son and jumped down the ramp, my wife following," read another message. "We left all our personal effects on board."
He spoke of his relief at being alive, but said other passengers were "rattled" and "angry".
Long Beach Airport spokeswoman Stephanie Montuya-Morisky said the emergency slides were deployed and all 142 passengers and five crew members were able to get off.
Four passengers were treated for injuries: one was released and one taken to a local hospital, she added.
The pilots had received a warning signal that the number two engine was overheating, a fire department spokesman told CBS Los Angeles.
JetBlue spokesman Morgan Johnston said the airline was looking into the cause of the plane's mechanical problem.
The tracking website FlightAware said the plane took off at 9:17am and landed at 9:30am.
