As we have mentioned, monitoring of municipal elections is being continued since February, chairman of the ACSDA (Association for Civil Society Development in Azerbaijan) Maharram Zulfugarli told SIA.
According to him, stability in the country has contributed to an environment of calm election: “We have already observed all processes. Thus, we have not faced any violations in the process of nominating, registering, or campaigning of candidates. Certainly, ballot will be observed by ACSDA on election day.”
M. Zulfugarli noted that, Chairman of Central Election Commission Mazahir Panahov said that, more than 16,000 municipal members should be elected: “42,000 candidates nominated their candidacy so far and everyone has been registered as a candidate who has applied for membership in the election of municipality. ”
