President Ilham Aliyev has chaired meeting on economic area on October 15.
The head of the state made a speech at the meeting, according to SIA. In his speech he said that, some officials also obstruct the reforms. These issues, which can be considered an announcement of the major personnel reforms and the dismissal of a number of officials, are brougt attention to our readers and the public.
Quotes from the speech of President: "A lot of tasks have been given to the new government. I have entrusted Ali Asadov with many responsibilities when I assigned him. I have set him the task that, it has to be reformed. We are living in the 21st century, how can we go to the future with our old thougths and knowledge? How can we rely on the natural resources ? İt is true that, reforms are being fulfilled. But we know we have a lot of resources, and we also know that if knowledgeable staff designate to any state or private organization, we will see changes there. İt was supposed that, there are some fields in our country cannot be reformed. One of them is the tax system, and it iwas believed that, this ridiculous situation should remain forever and we are not be able to make any progress. But everyone saw that we could fix the situation through reforms.
Many infractions were reveiled and reformed by new minister Sahil Babayev in the field of social protection. I have to also emphazise that, some officials who are in power today depricate to reforms. These reforms affect their personal interests. They always want to hinder our work. They denigrate reformists, including in the press. The press has turned a kind of internal struggle. It is intolerable. I don't want to go deeper now. But let me tell you, this is unbearable, some members of one government are blackmailed by other members. Their reforms are overshadowed. If someone thinks that, we have to agree with it, it is wrong. Because there is no alternative to reform. We want to see Azerbaijan as a modern, developing country and we will achieve it. Nobody can stop us. "
