On November 19, the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies (MCHT) held a meeting with a delegation from the Ministry of Strategy and Finance of the Republic of Korea in connection with the preparation of the Partnership Strategy with Azerbaijan.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister of Communications and High Technologies Elmir Velizadeh noted the priority of communications and high technologies in the future economic development of the country, including in the Development Concept: “Azerbaijan 2020: A Look into the Future.”
The Deputy Minister stressed that purposeful work is carried out in the country on the organization of activities of high-tech parks with the view of sustainable development of the sector of information and communication technologies (ICTs) and improving the competitiveness of the economy, the expansion of export-oriented products and services, the formation of e-government continues successfully. It was brought to the attention that cooperation in these fields and the study of advanced Korean experience could be useful for a partnership.
In turn, Han Jung, head of the delegation, director of the international development policy of the Ministry of Strategy and Finance of the Republic of Korea, noted special attention of his country to the cooperation with Azerbaijan, which is reflected in the “Country Partnership Strategy “in 2016-2020.
It was noted that the ICT sphere is one of the priorities in the draft document.
Then the presentation prepared by the Korean delegation was held, the sides exchanged views on the draft document.
