Russian media continues to cover the electoral process started in Azerbaijan,
SIA reports that ria.ru disseminated information about it, Secki-2015.az reports. It is noted that voting has started in 08:00 and will continue till 20:00. Giving information about the activity of the Azerbaijani parliament, Russian site notes that the highest law-making body consists of 125 deputies and the elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system.
Based on the information of the Central Election Commission, the site notes that 769 candidates are competing for 125 seats and on average 6 persons are putting a claim for a mandate. Most of the candidates have been proposed by the political parties. 15 parties, including the “Azadlıq-2015” (Freedom-2015) bloc consisting of seven opposition parties also takes part in the elections.
