The situation in Azerbaijan is peaceful and stable, that is why the upcoming parliamentary elections are not expected to be something extraordinary, political columnist of “Russia Today” Rostislav Ishchenko told commenting on the parliamentary elections to be held in Azerbaijan on Nov 1, SIA reports.
At the same time, he stressed the importance of all elections, first of all, because they serve as a confirmation of popular mandate.
He said that obviously Russian media attached a great interest to the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan is a member of the CIS, as well as the potential participant of other integration projects on the post-Soviet space. Some 24 years ago, we even were parts of one country, Ishchenko said.
With regard to the further development of the Azerbaijani-Russian bilateral relations, Ishchenko said that Moscow expected them to remain friendly, mutually beneficial and to develop dynamically.
