There will not be any unpleasant surprises during the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan to be held on November 1, Ukrainian political analyst, Advisor to the Secretary of Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine Alexey Voronenko stated, SIA reports.
Official Baku controls the situation, and the voters could not be affected by any pressure, he said.
Voronenko believes that the pressure coming from the West in the threshold of the elections is connected with Azerbaijan’s political course of rapprochement with Moscow.
“But official Baku goes its own way and experiences economic development. I think Azerbaijan will not change its foreign policy,” analyst said.
Voronenko noted that Azerbaijan had its own position corresponding to the country’s national interests.
And this position needs to be respected, he said, adding that the West should build mutually beneficial relations with all countries, especially with its neighbors, Voronenko concluded.
