The international network against Azerbaijan has become more active in these elections, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Political Affairs and Security of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Chairman of the Azerbaijani Council of State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations Azay Guliyev told Secki-2015.az website.
According to him, the network supported by Armenian lobby and Armenians has geopolitical interests in the South Caucasus.
“The Azerbaijani people saw the biased activity of this network during the first European Games and the Eurovision Song Contest. Refusal of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) to observe parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan is also a result of this network`s activity”, Mr. Guliyev said.
Azay Guliyev stressed that OSCE ODIHR intended to send an observation mission to Azerbaijan. But after the meeting between Director of the OSCE ODIHR Michael Georg Link and OSCE PA Secretary General Spencer Oliver, they decided not to send the mission on the biased initiative of the latest.
“We condemn OSCE ODIHR`s decision. I have told my opinion on this issue both to the Bureau members and new Secretary General whose tenure will begin on January 1, 2016. It is the worst decision of the OSCE PA,” Mr. Guliyev added.
Stating the OSCE`s decision will not influence the election process, Azay Guliyev stressed that the Azerbaijani people will vote for their trusted candidates. He underlined that the OSCE PA`s decision is a next pressure element used by some groups financed by the Armenian lobby.
“In any case, this decision is the manifestation of unfair and unjust attitude towards Azerbaijan,” he concluded.
