“Each incident is explained for the public in a way of pro national interests of the state,” Chairman of the Press Council of Azerbaijan Aflatun Amashov has said SIA.
According to him, despite that some transnational media outlets claim on following journalism ethics and standarts (as CNN, BBC) but they run according to the state policy which they are belonged to: "The latest incident in the US over shooting of 2 journalists have been grown and extended without a journalism investigation and research. The incident had to be probed, then the facts should be presented publicly. If such incident to be occured in Azerbaijan or in other country, then this incident would be explained and commented differently, as freedom of speech and media.
"The world is ruled by information not by weapons. Azerbaijan is the most developed country in South Caucasus. Despite of this, there are serious problems of Azerbaijan. Firstly, there are 1mln refugees and IDPs of Azerbaijan and 20 % of its lands have been occupied by Armenia. Azerbaijan tries to provide its territorial integrity. In this situation, it is being tried to get some compromises from Azerbaijan through negotiations on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. “ Violating of human rights, freedom of speech and media “ and other unbiased blames are emphasized delibaretly against Azerbaijan. By these groundless blames they attempt to make believe international community on not existence of democracy in Azerbaijan. Of course, Armenian lobby takes a big role on this process conducted against Azerbaijan." added Chairman of the Press Council of Azerbaijan.
"Thereby, media is being used to pressure states and keeping them under pressure." stressed Aflatun Amashov.
