Israeli Ambassador in Baku Rafael Harpaz has praised tolerance in Azerbaijan, SIA reports.
“Tolerance in Azerbaijan is an example to the entire world,” said the Ambassador as he attended a series of events dealing with Azerbaijani-Israeli relations in Washington and Philadelphia.
“Along with representatives of other nations, Jews live in Azerbaijan in peaceful and safe conditions.”
He lauded the role of national leader Heydar Aliyev in continuing and developing “deep-rooted” traditions of tolerance of the Azerbaijani people. “This policy is today being successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev,” he added.
The events included a seminar organized by the Center of Israel at the American University, a conference co-organized by the American Jewish Committee, Republican Jewish Coalition and ACCESS Young Professionals.
