“ Although Azerbaijan’s lands have occupied by Armenia, Azerbaijan continues struggling for releasing its occupied territories.” SIA reports that MP Aydin Mirzezade told SIA commenting on the US co-chair’s of OSCE Minsk group statement that Azerbaijani-Armenian Nagorno-Karabakh conflict should be solved in the frame of Helsinki Final Act.
Recalling the Helsinki conference on Security and Co-operation in Europe in 1975, Mirzezade stressed that this historical Helsinki meeting warmed the cold relations between socialist countries and west. After this meeting and adopted Helsinki Final Act the relations between West and socialist countries began to became warm. It was mentioned about the souvergnity of countries in the Final Act. Most of conflicts and wars begin because of the territorial disputes. Consequently, European countries claimed the main issue of the protecting the souvergnity of the countries.
Adopting Helsinki Final Acts has prevented a number of territorial claims. There has not been announced any other new state till Kosova. Nagorno- Karabkh is a historical land of Azerbaijan. Analysing the statements of the US co-chair we can consider that Azerbaijan’s position is close with the US’s position.
