“Azerbaijan’s experience is a model for Moldova,” said Natalia Gherman, Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, SIA reports.
Speaking at a press conference following a one-on-one meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, hailed the relations between the two countries in political, economic and humanitarian areas.
Ms. Gherman noted that mutual visits and meetings contributed to developing the bilateral relations. “Azerbaijan and Moldova are also actively cooperating within international organizations,” she added.
Ms. Gherman said: “We want to advance economic relations between our countries. Azerbaijan is an economically very powerful government, which has big experience in energy sector.”
She said the Azerbaijan-Moldova intergovernmental commission would hold its next meeting at the end of the year.
Mr. Mammadyarov praised Azerbaijan-Moldova ties. He said the two countries shared similar positions in international organizations.
The Azerbaijani FM said they discussed many issues, particularly economic relations.
Noting that Azerbaijan’s investments in Moldova were also part of the discussions, Mr. Mammadyarov said official Chisinau was also interested in expanding relations in business sector. The Minister said the countries also planned to improve relations in agricultural and energy areas.
