"U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry offered to sign a great peace agreement on Nagorno-Karabakh conflict during the recent meeting of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan in Wales." SIA reports that Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov told at the press conference.
According to Mammadyarov, the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry got acquainted with the negotiation process and viewed the possibility of taking new steps.
Azerbaijan’s position is simple. Meetings should not be held just for so-called meetings. It should be discussed concrete issues. The main problem is that Armenian armed forces havenot withdrawed its troops from Azerbaijani territories.
Mammadyarov also add that he will meet with his Armenian counterpart Edward Nalbandian during the session of the UN General Assembly in New York in late September.
Azerbaijani FM told that the U.S. co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group James Warlick will visit the region by late 2014 to arrange this meeting.
