Experts of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights have visited the city of Ganja, Azerbaijan. They met head of the Ganja City Executive Authorities Elmar Valiyev.
UN experts Pavel Sulyandziga and Puvan Selvanathan noted the role of civil society and stressed the necessity of promoting economic-social and regional policies, human rights and freedoms in developing countries.
The experts said their visit aimed to inspect conditions created for civil society institutions in Ganja.
Mr. Valiyev highlighted socio-economic development of Ganja. He said the city government attached particular importance to solving social problems of people.
