People scrambled to pick up millions of Hong Kong dollars after notes flew from the back of a security van.
The bizarre scene unfolded in the Wan Chai area earlier today.
Police estimate that the equivalent of around £1.3million was taken – and officers are urging them to hand it back.
District police officer Wan Siu-hong said: ‘Anyone who picked up the cash concerned should hand it over to the police as soon as possible, otherwise, they may have committed the crime of theft.’
Traffic came to a grinding halt as motorists pulled over to grab as much cash as possible.
